"Our goal is to use him basically as a short-yardage runner, a red zone runner and Steve's (Slaton) backup," revealed Kubiak. "He's shown flashes this preseason that he's still got it in him. That's important to our team." Kubiak's statement confirms the widely held speculation that Slaton would lose red zone touches to the bigger back.
